I woke up yesterday morning to this situation…

It's not all Biz May

Oh boy, did it crack me up! This is exactly representative of my dogs’ personalities. The smallest (Cody) thinks she’s the queen, breaks all the rules, and is the life of the party. The bigger, and sweeter (Wesley) never wants to rock the boat and just blends in wherever he can.

It got me thinking about the relationship dance between my husband, my daughter, and me. Marcy and I are very similar and trust me that can bring on some real challenges. Whereas Jay is quite possibly the exact opposite of us, and that too can bring on challenging situations.

Thankfully, 8 years ago I was introduced to the DISC Behavior and Communication Assessment. This assessment quite literally changed my life!  When I learned about my style and how it mixed, or let’s be real here…..didn’t mix with other styles, I was able to improve so many aspects of my life. It has helped me be a better parent, wife, friend, and business owner.

And get this….even my executive clients who have taken the assessment with their teams, have ordered them for their family members as well!  Tell me that doesn’t say a lot! So, I followed suit and had Jay and Marcy take it as well.

When I talk about developing ourselves as leaders, I want you to understand it’s for more than just biz. This work filters into your personal life as well. Your individual personality affects every aspect of your life that’s why one of the best things you can do to grow yourself and others is to understand your personality and what naturally drives you. When you recognize your strengths and weaknesses you are able to give your best as you work with people around you.

If this is intriguing you in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’m happy to share my experience with the DISC assessment and what it can do for you!

xoxo,
Maria
